Many online multiplayer games become a better experience when you can communicate with others. Of course, this is always possible via text chat, but for those with a microphone and headset, verbal communication is king. If you’re trying to talk to your friends and teammates in Valorant but it’s not working, here’s how to fix it.

If you can’t hear your teammates in Valorant or they can’t hear you, we recommend checking your audio settings first. Make sure you have the correct input and output devices selected and your party and team chat options are set correctly. Also, make sure your devices are properly connected or charged. Consider restarting the game and your PC to see if that fixes the issue.
Next, go to your Windows settings and click on Privacy and security. Under App permissions, click Microphone and ensure that microphone access is enabled and that desktop apps can access your microphone.
If none of the above steps work, we recommend opening the sound settings in Windows and managing your sound devices. Make sure your device hasn’t been accidentally disabled and that it recognizes your devices. Be sure to test your mic to ensure it’s picking up.
Our final recommendation is to run Valorant as an administrator. Right-click Valorant when you start it and choose Run as administrator. This will give the game more permissions than it normally would and hopefully find your devices better.
If you continue to have problems, we recommend that you contact Valorant’s support team. In most cases, one of the above solutions should get you talking to your teammates again, but there’s always a chance that something else has messed with your game.
