How to find the pointed stalactite in Minecraft

The Caves and Cliffs updates for Minecraft bring some long-awaited features to the mines and subterranean crevices you’ve been exploring for so long. One of these features closely resembles a sight you will find in any real cave. Unfortunately, stalactites and stalagmites were absent from Minecraft up to this point, although much of the gameplay relies on exploration and digging through caves. That changes with the addition of the new pointed stalactite. Here’s how to find it and what it does.

There are two ways to get Pointed Dripstone in Survival worlds. First it will appear in stalactite caves and have a chance to grow in common caves. You need to look for the brown stalactite blocks, and if there is a water source directly above or below those blocks, pointed stalactite will grow out of it. They grow very slowly over time. If you want to collect some of this, you can hit it with any tool to knock it down, although pickaxes are the quickest way.

You can also bring the stalactite block to your home and put water above or below it so it grows naturally there. Remember that a pointed stalactite on the ground will damage you if you step on it, and a hanging pointed stalactite will damage you if it falls on you.
Another way to get Pointed Dripstone is to buy it from a Wandering Trader. They will sell two for one emerald.

Four-Pronged Stalactite can be used as an ingredient in a crafting recipe to create a Stalactite Block that will produce more Pointed Stalactite over time when powered by a water source.
