How to find and defeat Vincent the Frostbringer in V Rising – Vincent Location

If you want to fill your castle with prison cells, you must take on Vincent the Frostbringer, a powerful guardian from Dunley Farmlands. Defeating him, however, presents a few challenges not common to many of the other bosses in V Rising. Most of these challenges stem from Vincent not having a fixed location. Instead, he slowly patrols the roads near the Haunted Iron Mines with a few guards in tow.

This means that you always run the risk of other enemies (or worse, bosses) intruding on your fight and complicating the situation. In some cases, you can even lose track of Vincent and have to return to your blood altar before you can track his V-Blood again.

Vincent patrols the roads in the southern part of Dunley Farmlands, usually in the area shown above. Before you go there, we recommend that you get a Gear Score of at least 40. As you approach the area, try to take out as many nearby patrols and aggressive creatures as possible to avoid a chaotic boss fight. There is no guarantee that you will not be interrupted, but you can at least improve your chances a little.

Vincent’s gear focuses on dealing cold damage, and most of his attacks will slow you down or even freeze you in place. The most dangerous attack in his loadout is his ranged attack, which sends multiple projectiles of ice in a cone in front of him. These have a long windup but will freeze you for a few seconds and Vincent will follow them with a shield slam. It’s best to keep your movement ability off cooldown until you see this attack, but if you’re lucky enough to fight Vincent near an area cover, you can also use that to your advantage.

Aside from this attack, Vincent has a few Shield Slam attacks as well as a two-slam combo with his Morningstar. The two-hit combo isn’t much of a problem and leaves a nice opening afterwards, especially if you have a weapon skill that also works as a gap closer. The shield slams are a bit more of a problem as they cause him to run forward and are often used in quick succession. However, once you learn their animation, a simple side penalty is usually enough to avoid them.
