How to deliver loot to the Sovereigns in Sea of Thieves

Cashing in your loot in Sea of Thieves can take a lot of legwork, as you usually have to carry each piece of treasure individually to the appropriate vendors on an outpost. Luckily, the Sovereigns are a trading company that can completely speed up the process for captain’s crews. You can turn in almost any of your loot to the Sovereigns, and you’ll get the same amount of gold or doubloons as usual. Here’s how Captains can take advantage of Sovereigns in Sea of Thieves.
Where are the Sovereigns in Sea of Thieves?
Each of the seven outposts in Sea of Thieves has a separate dock for the Sovereigns, far from where your ship spawns. You may have noticed these docks were before Season 7, but now they’re adorned with a chic purple tent – you can’t miss it. For reference, here’s roughly where each Sovereign tent is located at each outpost, using the tavern as a starting point:
- New Golden Sands Outpost: on the southwestern island
- Sanctuary Outpost: South
- Daggerfang Outpost: Northwest
- Galleon’s Grave Outpost: to the north, across from the dock and across from Traitor’s Fate Fortress
- Morrow’s Peak Outpost: East
- Ancient Spire Outpost: North of the tavern, opposite the regular dock
- Plunder Outpost: Northeast
Why should you face the sovereigns?

Remember that You can only use the services of the Sovereigns if you are the captain of your ship or belong to a captain’s crew. Call the sovereigns noble or snooty, but that’s the way it is. Also, you cannot sell treasure for Reaper’s Bones or Hunter’s Call. However, submitting loot to the Sovereigns is a much quicker process and saves you time for further adventures afterwards.
While the Sovereigns do not have an Emissary flag or voyages of their own, turning treasure over to the Sovereigns advances Pirate and Ship Milestones specifically for selling to them. For example, while you gain Gold Hound reputation for selling Gold Hound loot, it only counts toward the Treasures Sold to Sovereigns milestone.
How to efficiently turn over loot to the sovereigns
Not only can you turn in all of your loot to the Sovereigns, but their dock and tent have helpful features that further speed up the selling process. With an elevator and a harpoon, you can put all your treasures in one big pile.
First go to the mast of the Sovereigns’ tent; Climb the ladder on it. You’ll reach a platform with harpoons and an elevator; Behind you on the mast is a lever that lowers the elevator, but don’t pull it yet.
Assuming your ship is parked at the Sovereigns dock, you can harpoon treasure from your ship and place it in the elevator. Once all your treasures are in one big pile, pull the lever to lower the elevator and climb to the bottom of the tent. Now you can turn in all your valuable treasures to the fancy Sovereigns NPC without going through too many steps. There is also a lever on the back of the mast floor that allows you to lower or raise the elevator.
Are the Sovereigns in the Reaper’s Hideout?
As mentioned, the Sovereigns are a classy bunch, and you might find that the Sovereigns don’t have a location in the Reaper’s Hideout. While you can drop off loot at the hideout, it’s not technically an outpost and you’re forbidden from going anywhere near it – plus the Sovereigns NPCs will tell you through dialogue that they don’t particularly like or don’t trust The Reaper’s Bones.
