How to defeat the Taken in Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin

Stranger of Paradise is an action RPG inspired version of the original Final Fantasy. Jack and his crew of Chaos Hunters will fight tons of bosses on their hunt. The Possessed is a late-game boss, and here are some good ways to take him down.

Fight against the possessed

The possessed is not an unknown warrior, he is the pirate boss Bikke from the second mission of the campaign. He’s much more powerful and uses some new attacks to beef up his arsenal.

You will encounter this new Bikke during The False Warriors mission. Unlike the previous fight with him, he will not summon pirate reinforcements during the fight. Most of the attacks he uses are single target attacks. Use Resonance and dab your allies for damage while keeping a good distance.

The Taken use Molotov cocktails. Protect them with the soul and throw them back to deal a lot of stun damage. The Taken doesn’t have a second phase, so breaking it allows for a massive critical attack that will quickly end the fight. Here are the attacks that the taken will use for this boss fight.

The possessed special attacks

  • Starfall – A long range frontal smash attack.
  • Molotov – A firebomb that can be countered.
  • Furious Blow – An unblockable ax swing. Stay behind him to avoid this attack.
  • Tomahawk – Twin Tomahawks are thrown out of range.
  • Yohoho – A buff that increases attack power
  • Spin – A whirlwind of ax attacks that pursues.
  • Exorcising Torrent – A trio of large ax strikes that cause bursts of energy in front of the Taken.

Careful management of your allies and countering Molotov are critical to success. Avoid his spin and keep your distance when he activates Yohoho. Defeat the Taken and claim your loot once he’s down.
