How to craft TM 020 Trailblaze in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

If you’re looking for a way to defeat powerful Water-type trainers like Gym Leader Kofu, Pokémon Scarlet, and Violet, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet offer you a wide variety of promising Grass-type TMs for members of your party to learn in no time. TM 020, or Trailblaze, is one of the first you can craft in the game, although it takes some work to earn its recipe and ingredients. This guide will show how to get Trailblaze and its advantages in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

Materials needed to craft TM 020 Trailblaze in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

To craft Trailblaze, players must complete the Artazon Gym Test and then defeat Grass Gym Leader Brassius. After losing, the trainer will allow you to craft Trailblaze from a Pokémon Center’s TM machine at any time, but you may have to hunt for its ingredients first. TM 020 initially requires three Petilil Leaves, which can be collected by defeating Petilil or Lilligant in the wild. You must then have three Hoppip leaves, a material picked up by Hoppip, Skiploom, and Jumpluff. Once these resources are discovered, you can use them and 800 League Points on a TM machine to get a copy of Trailblaze.

Unlike most moves, Trailblaze can affect a fight in a variety of ways. The move holds 50 Power and 20 PP, but also has an excellent 100 Accuracy. Once successfully used, its user will even increase its speed by one level, giving you a higher chance of attacking first on your next turn. Although Trailblaze is a Grass-type TM, the move can be learned by a number of other types, as Pokemon like Pikachu, Litleo, and even Eevee can add it to their moveset.
