As you advance in Iteration Two and beyond in the Leviathan Expedition, there are increasing opportunities for you to look and plan a little further ahead. You get more opportunities to complete milestones out of order, or maybe combine two (or even more) into a single journey, so it can pay off to look ahead to all the steps ahead, including the later stages. This is certainly true early in this new phase, with some stops at space stations en route to finding the second Anchor Point portal helping to tick another milestone off the list.
How to complete the Universal Language Milestone in Leviathan
As with your first Anchor Point mission, a very good reason to stop at space stations on your travels is to purchase new inventory slots for your exosuit. For all newcomers, each new system has a space station with a vendor selling you one (and only one) extra seat. However, the Universal Language Milestone gives you another reason to stop by for a quick visit, as these busy stations offer you plenty of opportunities to speak with the locals.
To complete the step, you just need to get some dialect help from three NPCs from each of the main alien factions: Vy’keen, Gek, and Korvax (think ogres, goblins, and robots, respectively). This should be familiar to anyone who’s played the main game, but if you haven’t, all you have to do is approach and interact with each alien to open up your options. Select “Get Dialect Help” and choose from four ways to learn a new word. Repeat with three members of each faction and you’re done, earning an advanced translator unit and a new memory fragment for your troubles.
How to reach anchor point 2 in Leviathan
This is a slightly longer journey than the first anchor point, and you’ll need to fill up your hyperdrive with warp cells (made of antimatter and antimatter casing, which require a mixture of chromatic metal, condensed carbon, oxygen, and ferrite dust). With a full tank, simply repeat the same steps as before: open the Galaxy Map to automatically plot a course using the expedition route map, select a warp jump to the next system, and repeat the process until you reach the destination . Again, the planet should be marked as long as you’ve selected the mission, so just use your Pulse Engine to speed up your arrival.
When you get close, you can either land at the marker and use your Target Sweep sight to find the exact location, or you can circle around your ship to try and spot the now-familiar sight of the alien portal, and save yourself a lot of time walking. You still don’t have to do anything when you get there, other than unlocking the rewards in the Expeditions menu. Don’t be too quick to chase down the Memory Hotspot, however, as building a base for the first time ticks off another milestone and can help you get the Fallen Traveler much easier.
