Saturday night’s NBA All-Star culmination event is the Dunk Contest. No matter who joins, the great hounds always draw in the participating crowds and are likely to be the highlight of the night.
This year, there are three riders accompanying Obi Toppin for the first time in the diving competition. Toppin will star Juan Toscano-Anderson, Jalen Green and Cole Anthony.
WynnBET have set the odds for the dunk contest, so let’s dive into the competition.
Dunk Competition Leaders
Green’s rookie season hasn’t gone well, but one thing we do know about him is that he’s vivacious. Green has had a few moments this season where he has surprised some people. The key for Green will be making his dunks on the first try. His finishing and vertical prowess alone could turn the arena upside down, but the shock factor would make him untouchable.
He’ll have some rivalry with Obi Toppin and Cole Anthony, but Green has more bunnies than either of them. Let’s see if he can function effectively.
Anthony is a good choice to make it to the finals. Anthony has shown his explosiveness since he was in high school and tonight could be the moment he reminds everyone. Anthony is a power playboy and will have to win on his finishing ability and aesthetic sense. I don’t see Anthony as the most creative pitcher in the competition, but he will have the most aggressive players in the league.
The best of the rest
While Toppin and Tuscano-Anderson are sure to be fun, they aren’t considered overly creative spoilers. Toppin entered the competition last year and couldn’t beat Anfernee Simons. With more explosive songs in this year’s competition, Toppin will have to surprise me to move on.
