The PGA Championship is one of the easier majors to buy tickets for and attend.
This year, the 104th PGA Championship is being held at the Southern Hills Country Club in Tulsa, OK, and while it’s a big championship, tickets aren’t nearly as difficult to buy as The Masters.
Scheduling these things is the best option if anyone wants to attend, so buying tickets sooner rather than later is usually the best way to go. However, not everyone knows if they can go, so there are still options for fans looking to visit Southern Hills.
Initially, fans were able to purchase all ticket options on the PGA Championship website, but some of those options have now sold out.
There are still Thursday day passes for $195 plus tax, but not many left. The site has the option to exchange tickets for other days, but that could also wear off quickly.
So if you’re interested in participating, a secondary location is your best option at this late point in the game. Ticket prices vary depending on when a fan wishes to attend the event.
It’s cheaper to go on Thursday than to compete in Sunday’s round of the championship. These awards are because everyone wants to see the winner, but not everyone is willing to miss work and leave during the week.
Tickets can cost up to $1500 for a Sunday round, but it’s a lot more reasonable for those who don’t mind attending earlier in the week.
The most expensive tickets we’ve seen on secondary sites are listed between $520 and $1500. Other websites had cheaper tickets and they range from $69 to $82.
Southern Hills is a very nice club and they hosted the PGA Championship back in 2007 so maybe tickets are a bit pricey or it could be because Tiger Woods is in the field and that alone could drive prices up.
During the 2021 PGA Championship on Kiawah Island, the average ticket price was around $200. Although there are much more expensive options, that’s not a bad sum for a big championship.
Again, the venue has a lot to do with it and who’s in the field, so fans looking to attend should expect to spend some money on tickets and the concession stands.
However, with Phil Mickelson not in the field to defend his title, it could help prices drop, but it’s unlikely. The Big Cat moves the needle himself, so the price tag doesn’t move unless he backs out or misses the cut.
With the first round of the 104th PGA Championship on May 19, ticket counts on these resale sites are rapidly dwindling. So if you are interested in it, buying sooner or later is your best bet to secure entry.
