How is Jeff Bridges now? An update on his health

Actor Jeff Bridges is best known for his work in The Last Picture Show, True Grit, Hell or High Water, The big LebowskiAnd iron man, but he’s also recently taken on a new role: survivalist. The actor has been battling cancer since 2020, when he announced his lymphoma diagnosis. Concerned fans are curious: How is Jeff Bridges now? Here’s an update on his health.

In 2021, Bridges announced he had gone into remission from cancer, but also said he was exposed to the coronavirus at the site where he received chemotherapy. Jeff and his wife Susan both contracted the virus, but while his wife recovered from her symptoms within days, Jeff wasn’t so lucky.

Despite his victory over cancer, he spent another five weeks in intensive care battling the coronavirus, against which he had not been vaccinated due to his treatment. September 2021, NBC News reported he had been double-vaccinated against the coronavirus after a long health battle that made cancer “look like a piece of cake”.

In conversation with CBS Sunday morning, Jeff spoke to Ben Mankiewicz in his first TV interview since his cancer and coronavirus. Ben asked Jeff if he was worried about dying in the hospital and Jeff’s response is both heartwarming and harrowing. “Oh, the doctors, yes, they – they – my wife would ask, ‘Will he die?’ And they say, ‘We’re doing our best here.’ They wouldn’t — they wouldn’t reassure her that everything would be fine,” he said.

Jeff added, “One of my doctors said, ‘Jeff, you have to fight. man you don’t fight You have to fight.’ And I said, ‘What are you talking about, man? I’m, I’m in surrender mode, man.’”

Thankfully, Jeff appears to have made a full recovery, and he also said he emerged with a newfound appreciation for life.

“That’s life, that’s the way, you know that’s what lies ahead. And isn’t it beautiful?” Jeff also revealed that he had promised to dance with his daughter at her wedding. “I started getting better, my goal was to walk Hailey down the wedding aisle. I got to go down them and I did a little wedding dance, it was really awesome.” He also credits his wife for being essential to his recovery, noting that he included a photo of the day they met in has in his wallet.

Jeff also returns to Hollywood with his new show for FX, The old man. The show follows a former CIA agent who lives off the grid and is suddenly drawn back to his job. The show is also based on the Thomas Perry novel of the same name.
