“How could I lose the MVP to Steve Nash” Shaquille O’Neal broke quite a bit in his own home after not responding to a “TRIGGER” word

NBA stars like Kobe Bryant acknowledged that with more discipline, Shaquille O’Neal could easily have become the greatest player of all time. However, after winning MVP awards and four silverware throughout his career, Shaq couldn’t bear to lose the individual award to the current Brooklyn Nets coach.
For those who don’t know, Steve Nash won the MVP award just ahead of Shaquille O’Neal. The legendary center, who played for the Miami Heat, was clearly heartbroken as he spoke about his loss on multiple occasions. To get down to the nitty gritty, on the one hand, Shaq managed to average a phenomenal 22.9 points, 10.4 rebounds, and 2.7 assists throughout the season. While Steve Nash averaged 15.5 points, 11.5 assists and 3.3 rebounds. The difference between the two agreed personal details was only 34 points, with Dirk Nowitzki finishing in third place.
What was Shaquille O’Neal’s opinion?
Shaquille O’Neal said: “I used to hate saying the word “but” like Shaq was one of the greatest Lakers of all time. The reason he couldn’t win the MVP over Steve Nash might have been him, though. So that would drive me insane. It got to the point where I went to my house and broke things up.”
This was probably the first time that fans themselves were confused about how a center that had a dominant season all season failed to win the MVP honors. Apparently, it was on the face of the legendary Hall of Famer, who also publicly admitted it.
The former Heat and Lakers center said: “People know who the really dominant guy was. But Steve Nash, I don’t want to say it because you might print it and it might cause problems. I don’t think he hit me twice.” That being said, Shaquille O’Neal was visibly upset when he narrowly lost to one of basketball’s biggest awards, despite fighting primarily to win it.
