Houston Rockets Coach Stephen Silas Is Treated For Dehydration

CLEVELAND – Rocket Coach Stephen Silas was treated for dehydration in the dressing room after leaving the field during the previous team’s 124-89 loss Cavaliers on Wednesday night.

Silas gestured for assistant coach John Lucas to take over the team as he took to the floor at the end of the first half. He remained in the dressing room for the rest of the first half.

The Rockets said Silas is receiving fluids from their medical staff. Lucas continued to act as a power coach when they returned to the ring in the third quarter, and Houston ultimately eliminated Silas for the game.

“He’s fine, he’s better,” Lucas said. “We were drifting when the Coach left and we lost our cool for about five minutes after that. They just had us at everything.”

Silas, 48, is in his second season in charge of Houston and has a record of 26-73. He is the son of longtime NBA coach and Celtics grandpa Paul Silas. Houston Rockets Coach Stephen Silas Is Treated For Dehydration
