Dan Hooker and his team at City Kickboxing Gym suffered a great loss when they lost a dear friend Fau Vake to murder last year. The team-mate was attacked in Auckland and the attacker’s verdict was recently announced.

Dan Hooker, who has been very vocal about this case along with other members of his gym, has taken it online to reveal that justice has not prevailed in his friend Fau Vake’s case. According to the NZ Herald, the accuser was sentenced to two years and nine months in prison for manslaughter. Never happy with that ruling, Hooker tweeted his thoughts after attending the court session.

The fighter previously explained to fans that the only reason the person who committed the attack received a jail sentence in the first place is the attention City Kickboxing members created with the help of the media. Hooker also revealed that the judges considered reducing the sentence since Vake died with just one punch.

Dan Hooker, Israel Adesanya and many others had previously spoken on the subject, detailing the New Zealand government and its legal system.

“The judge made no mistake. That’s the penalty for crime in New Zealand. A judge can only impose the penalty established in previous cases. Kill someone with a cowardly punch and two years in prison. Or even worse: house arrest for murder.” wrote Dan in one of his recent tweets.

The fighter followed the tweet by criticizing the New Zealand legal system for giving the lightest punishment to his friend’s killer. “LIGHTEST Murder Verdict IN THE WORLD.”

Dan comes up against with a loss Arnold Allen at UFC London. The fighter recently transitioned to the featherweight division after a poor run in the lightweight division.
