What are the best new outfits in the Burning Shores DLC?

Every new outfit in Burning Shores is best for one playstyle or another. Below we have all of the new outfits and what builds/playstyles they are best suited for. They all require Brimshine to purchase, so you’ll need to head to the Burning Shores to find as much as you can. Use our Brimshine locations guide to point you in the right direction so you’ll have enough to upgrade.

The Nora Lookout Outfit was a pre-order bonus for Horizon Zero Dawn, but it’s back with the Burning Shores DLC. This outfit is great for anyone who likes to keep Aloy healthy and prefers to fight defensively, dropping shields, and dodging attacks. The base stats for this are as follows.

  • +2 Medicine Capacity
  • +1 Strong Medicine
  • +1 Potion Competence
  • +1 Low health regeneration

Quen Commander – Best outfit for warrior builds

The Quen Commander outfit is the one worn by Aloy in all of the Burning Shores DLC pre-release marketing videos. It’s being touted as the new outfit for the warrior class, meaning it’s made for those who like to be up close and personal in combat. If you’ve geared your build towards weapons like Tripcasters and Warrior Bows, this is probably the outfit you want to go for. Its base stats that can be upgraded are as follows.

  • +2 Charged Duration
  • +1 resonator build
  • +1 resonator blast+
  • +1 resonator damage

Quen Deadeye – Best outfit for Infiltrator builds

The Quen Deadeye Outfit is for stealth specialists who like to kill a machine before it even knows you’re there. It gives you a small focus boost, but it’s mostly for stealth builds that don’t want to alert enemies. If you love sneaking around and taking out a pack of machines without a single one seeing you, this is the outfit you need. The base stats are as follows.

  • +2 Low Profile
  • +1 ranged stealth+
  • +1 Secret Tear+
  • +1 Concentration+

Quen Marine – Best outfit for Hunter Builds

The Quen Marine outfit is perfect for anyone who has gotten used to sneaking around and attacking enemies from afar. It’s called a warrior outfit, but in practice it works better for hunter builds. We used it for our playthrough of Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores DLC and it’s phenomenal. This is the outfit to go for if you love focusing on accurate shots. With the right combination of coils and upgrades, you can extend your focus time to what feels like 120 seconds. The base stats are as follows.

  • +2 Concentration+
  • +1 Deep Concentration
  • +1 concentration regeneration
  • +1 stamina regeneration
