Hollywood star Ben Affleck explains his ‘unhappy looking resting face’ after wild Grammys moment

Ben Affleck’s bored expression at this year’s Grammy Awards went viral online, sparking hundreds of hilarious memes.

But in a new interview with talk show host Jimmy Kimmel, the Hollywood star explained that he’s not bored — he just has a naturally “unhappy-looking, still face.”

Affleck, 50, said it’s a common misconception about him that he’s permanently unhappy.

He went on to show the difference between his “satisfied” face and his “amused” face — which was basically nothing.

Both facial expressions were completely blank, eliciting roars of laughter from Kimmel and the live audience.

“That’s how God made me!” he said.

“You don’t have to punish me for that.”

Social media users had a big day with Affleck’s facial expression — or lack thereof — at the Grammys.

But the actor said his facial expression was misinterpreted, recently telling The Hollywood Reporter that he “had a good time” at the event.

“My wife[Jennifer Lopez]wanted to go and I was like, ‘Well, there’s going to be good music. It could be fun,” he said.

“At film awards shows it’s speeches and something like sound mixing webinars.

“But I thought that would be fun.”

Affleck also commented on a moment when the cameras seemed to catch him and Lopez in the middle of an argument, leading some to speculate their marriage was already in trouble.

But Affleck said the moment caught on camera was just a case of “bad timing.”

“I saw (Grammy host Trevor Noah approached) and I was like, ‘Oh God,'” he told the outlet.

“They framed us in that shot, but I didn’t know they were rolling.

“I leaned into[Lopez]and thought, ‘Once they start rolling, I’m going to slide off you and have you sit next to Trevor.’

“She says, ‘You shouldn’t fucking go.’

“It’s a husband and wife thing.”

On Jimmy Kimmel Live, Kimmel noted that Affleck invited him to a Christmas party, and despite his dour reputation, Affleck was “gracious host” — aside from grumbling about the cost of a Christmas tree.

“I’m turning into this old guy,” Affleck joked.
