ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) – Maryland Governor Larry Hogan endorsed Kelly Schulz on Tuesday as the state’s next governor.
Hogan, a term Republican, endorsed the former state congressman who leads two different divisions of his administration at an event in Annapolis.

Schulz is running for the GOP nomination in a primary against three other Republican candidates; Hogan was a popular two-term Republican in a state where more registered Democrats than Republicans 2-1.
Schulz is a former member of the Maryland House of Representatives who represented Frederick County from January 2011 to January 2015. She served as the state’s head of labor and the state’s chief of commerce in politics. Hogan’s rights.

Schulz is fighting Del. Dan Cox, of Frederick County, for a GOP nomination. Robin Ficker and Joe Werner are also running.
Maryland’s elementary school is scheduled for July 19.
