“His game is similar to that of André Agassi” Corrado Barazzutti praises Jannik Sinner and praises his playing style after his victory in Umag

Jannik sinner is considered one of the best young players in the game. He claimed his first title of the year and first ATP title on clay by defeating the defending champion Carlo Alcaraz 6-7(5), 6-1, 6-1 in the final of the 2022 Croatia Open. He became the first teenage ATP500 champion by winning the 2021 Citi Open. His quest for a major singles title is ongoing, but he has already won six ATP titles, most recently in Umag.
Sinner has been pretty good with his performances that year, reaching the quarter-finals of the 2022 Australian Open and the 2022 Wimbledon Championships. He led with two first sets but was soon stymied by his opponent’s attacks and eventually lost the match to the eventual winner Novak Djokovic at the All England Club. He is often compared to the Swiss Maestro Roger Federer for his calm behavior on the pitch and his movement on all pitches

“He has everything to become number one in the world”: Corrado Barazzutti on Jannik Sinner’s future
Corrado Barazzuttifive-time ATP singles winner and captain of the Italian Davis Cup Team, recently praised Jannik Sinner for his style of play in an interview and even compared it to him Andre Agassi, eight-time Grand Slam winner from the USA. He said “Sinner isn’t a player who hits the net often, but he has to choose a comfortable volley. Sinner’s game is similar to André Agassi’s. As a kind of game, not movement or physics.“
He further revealed that Sinner is one of the best players, but he needs to focus on making fewer mistakes in games and converting crucial points into winners. He added “In his comfort zone, near the baseline, forehand and backhand, he has less room for improvement than the others because he’s already among the best in the world. So what he can improve on is making even fewer mistakes. He needs to serve better and play the net better than he is now.“
When asked about his compatriot’s future, Barazutti shares that Sinner has the ability and qualities to become world number one soon. He further added: “Sinner is a player who hits in that comfort zone as I’ve never seen anyone get hit. He has everything to become world number one.“
Sinner is the defending champion at the City open but he is not playing in the tournament this year as he took some time off to prepare for the tournament after his victory in Umag National Bank open in Toronto, followed by the US Open 2022.
