Here’s the planned Braves lineup vs Astros today (21 Aug)

The Atlanta Braves are looking to complete the win over the Houston Astros on Sunday.

After winning a wild in extra innings on Saturday night, the Atlanta Braves are able to sweep the Houston Astros On Sunday afternoon.

Atlanta has been on an absolute rift since losing four of five in Queens to the New York Mets. Since that miserable streak, the Braves have defeated the Boston Red Sox and Miami Marlins, beaten the Mets three of four and the first two against Houston, and made them winners in 11 of their last 12 games. Atlanta is just three games behind the Mets in the NL East race.

Here’s what Brian Snitker might decide when he submits his final Deployment Card for the series.

Atlanta Braves Predicted Starting Lineup vs. Houston Astros (Aug. 21)

This all really depends on who will be behind the plate between Travis d’Arnaud and William Contreras and whether Ronald Acuña Jr. will start in the right field. Snitker has many options as he tries to put together a lineup to beat Jose Urquidy with Charlie Morton on the mound for the Braves. Since Contreras was caught last night, here’s what Snitker might be up to.

  1. RF Ronald Acuña Jr.
  2. SS Dansby Swanson
  3. 3B Austin Riley
  4. 1B Matt Olson
  5. C Travis d’Arnaud
  6. LF Eddie Rosario
  7. 2B Vaughn Grissom
  8. CF Michael Harris II
  9. DH Robbie Grossman

Morton gets the start against his former team in the series finale for hometown Braves.

Acuña executes whether he’s playing at right field or serving as the designated batsman. Should he have a day off, look for Dansby Swanson to take the lead-off instead of his usual second. Either Vaughn Grissom or maybe even Robbie Grossman would be second if Swanson took the lead. Austin Riley and Matt Olson will finish third and fourth, as if there’s a debate about that.

Either d’Arnaud or Contreras will finish fifth, possibly sixth if Snitker looks to play back-to-back lefties with Olson and Eddie Rosario. Grissom, Michael Harris II, and Grossman likely round out the bottom of the order. While Guillermo Heredia could make a start to throw a wrench in everything, snitker Marcell Ozuna is impossible to start after being benched and his DUI.

It’s a day out for the Braves as they will head to Pittsburgh alone to play the Pirates. Here’s the planned Braves lineup vs Astros today (21 Aug)
