Heartbroken family finds eerie TikTok goodbye message after mother’s sudden death

A heartbroken family has been left with a message from beyond the grave after a woman died suddenly during a camping trip to celebrate her 36th birthday.

British mother Hayley Thompson was staying with her family on the Devon coast when she suddenly collapsed.

She was pronounced dead in her tent, but a TikTok message left behind shared her final message and instructions for her funeral.

“After everything happened we found a Tiktok video that said ‘If I die young just know I was happy,'” Hayley’s sister Liah Thompson told The Sun newspaper.

Writing on GoFundMe, which was created to bring her sister’s body back to her Manchester home for “the farewell she deserves,” Liah wrote that Hayley’s “health was deteriorating rapidly, resulting in her having three seizures that led to her suffering from dying.” resulted in her losing her life”.

She was on the waiting list for a liver transplant at the time and was survived by her 18-year-old daughter Ciara, her partner Adam Woodhall and their three stepchildren.

Her family didn’t know how ill she was, according to The Sun, which reports that Hayley posted the TikTok note in March – five months before her sudden death.

“If I die young… Give my baby my jewelry,” it said.

“You know I was happy.

“Everyone should wear yellow to a funeral. No socks or ties, I want FULL yellow suit or dress.

“I want a DJ at the after party. If anyone calls it a wake, you’re banned.

“Remind Kiana and Adam every day how special they made my existence. I love my family, never forget that.

“Wherever you see sunflowers, I’ll be there.”

The note is part of a growing TikTok trend for users to share their final wishes.

“I know it’s a bit of a trend, but my sister really thought so. Hayley was such a lovely woman with a big heart who went out of her way to help you whenever she could,” Liah Thompson said, according to The Sun report.

Hayley had just opened her birthday presents when she felt uncomfortable and returned to her tent with Adam.

As she got up to go to the bathroom, she collapsed, suffered seizures and was pronounced dead by paramedics shortly thereafter.

The Sun reports Hayley has been spitting up blood since 2016 because she was suffering from a mysterious disease that left scars on her liver but was difficult for doctors to diagnose and would be fatal without a transplant.

Hayley had two potential liver matches before her death, but both were the wrong size.

“I think she downplayed it a lot; I think she wanted to live her life because she had been called for transplants before and was disappointed. She just wanted to enjoy herself and I think that suits me well that she was happy,” Liah said.

“For the past two years she has been with her partner, she just enjoyed life. Before 2016, she was quite a tall girl. She’s lost a lot of weight. Because of this, she got to a point where she was truly happy and content in her life.

“We all knew she was ill and we knew she needed a transplant, but we didn’t think it would be needed so soon.”

“We as a family are heartbroken, made even more upset by the fact that Hayley is currently resting in peace in Devon, over 5 hours from her home in Manchester,” she wrote on the GoFundMe page.
