The Golden State Warriors advance to the NBA Finals in Game 5 at the Chase Center at the expense of the Dallas Mavericks. Both teams’ megastars – Luka and Stephen Curry ended up sharing a heartwarming moment as the Warriors reached their 6th NBA Finals in the past 8 years.

The Golden State Warriors dominated every game they won in the Western Conference Finals series, as they held the upper hand in almost every aspect of the game. They targeted Luka Doncic, the Dallas Mavericks’ talisman, and tried to limit him to minimal performance on the court. The strategy and particular tactics worked well for the Warriors as they were able to win nearly every quarter in the 5 game streak while Dallas looked helpless to move forward offensively. Still, the Slovenian found a way out and involved his teammates whenever possible to break the bonds, but it wasn’t enough to get past dubs.

The series has always been derided as a battle between two mega point guards active in the postseason. It was Luka Doncic against Stephen Curry from the start and as Warriors ended the series 4-1 it ended as it should have, with experienced Curry instilling some words of encouragement in young Doncic.

The Dallas Mavericks did well in Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals, especially at the Chase Center. But Klay Thompson’s hot shooting proved a dagger in the hearts of the Mavs, and it was the three-time NBA champion Golden State Warriors who prevailed as Stephen Curry and company now advance to the NBA Finals. This is her 6thth Appearing in the past 8 NBA seasons, demonstrating their dominance in the 2020 decade.

Luka Doncic played exceptionally in the series and even in the last game he played the last 2 minutes of the second half to turn the tide in the Mavs’ favour. After the last buzzer, the Warriors leader Doncic had to give up his props after a hard-fought series.

While it was unclear what was said between the pair, given the reactions and the respect they had shown for each other in the past, the Warriors star had nothing but praise and words of encouragement for Doncic.

Little is known of their past connection, Luka admired Stephen when he came to the league and even learned English to adjust to the environment. The Slovenian teenager had a training session with NBA champion Curry, which Luka recalled in an interview. “I remember practicing with him once after the draft last year and it was crazy. He couldn’t miss. He can’t miss. And that was something I will always remember – practice with him.”

Steph then took on a mentoring responsibility for young Luka, and after today’s gesture it only seems like the relationship between the two stars has just grown to another level. Doncic is now in the fourth year of his fledgling career and the fact that he reached the Conference Finals so early. Similarly, Curry had also hit new highs each season and made history in the process. The member of 75th Anniversary team are doing their best to nurture the young talent now that he is nearing the end of his career. It could be a fitting explanation for the warm hug the 34-year-old threw a bit of wisdom at his young counterpart after the end of an epic fight.

Now Curry is looking forward to the NBA Finals while Luka will try to improve his performances and be strong next season.
