‘He can certainly be a leader’ – Cristiano Ronaldo should stay at Manchester United in the 2022/23 Premier League season, says the team’s former assistant manager

Portugal star Cristiano Ronaldo has been in the news throughout the transfer window and has asked to leave Manchester United. Manchester United played to qualify for the elite competition, the UEFA Champions League. He also missed most of the pre-season games, playing just 45 minutes in last weekend’s 1-1 draw with Spanish club Rayo Vallecano.
Although Ronaldo has not spoken publicly about the matter, his agent has offered him to many clubs across Europe to play Champions League football again for his client. With that in mind, former Man United assistant manager Chris Armas has spoken out on the matter and urged new manager Erik Ten Hag to keep Ronaldo at the team for the upcoming season.

Armas’ message to Erik Ten Hag regarding Cristiano Ronaldo?

Chris Armas joined Man United as an assistant alongside Ralf Rangnick, who replaced Ole Gunnar Solskjaer last November. Armas did not praise the Portuguese superstar, saying he will play a key role in winning the side for a place in the top four next season and that Ten Hag should focus on keeping him at the club. With just three days to go before Manchester United start the season against Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday, Ronaldo’s future at the club still looks uncertain.
Due to Cristiano Armas, Sky Sports said, “Each guy has his own style of leadership, He can certainly be a leader in his own way. My goal, like everyone in the squad, was, ‘How can I get the best out of Cristiano?’”
He added “Well, I think that’s a practical approach. It talks to him, it brings him to the office, it asks him questions, so he’s part of the solution, he’s part of the success.”
