Hazmat responds, several injured in multi-vehicle crash on I-495 in Bethesda – CBS Baltimore

BETHESDA, Md. (WJZ) – Montgomery County Fire and Rescue officials said a multi-vehicle collision on the I-495 ring road in Bethesda left several lanes injured and several people injured.
The crash was reported around 12:30 p.m. on the outer ring of the ring road between Connecticut Avenue and Rockville Pike. The collision involved two trailers, a truck and two other vehicles.

The driver of the truck was trapped but was freed and taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Two other people were also hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. Three other injured patients refused to be transported, officials said.

Hazmat employees were called to the scene for the fuel spill and are working to contain the spill from a trailer.
