Senator Josh Hawley, in what may be a preview of how he will go after Kentaji Brown Jackson, Biden’s Supreme Court nominee, hit the judge over what he described as Her record of being soft on people accused of child pornography says:

I am poring over Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson’s file, reading her opinions, articles, interviews, and speeches. I have noticed an alarming pattern when it comes to Judge Jackson’s treatment of sex offenders, especially child predators.

Judge Jackson has a role model for child pornography offenders to commit to their horrific crimes, both as a judge and as a policy maker. She’s been advocating it since law school. This goes beyond “criminal softness.” I am concerned that this is a record that endangers our children

Later in the massive 18-tweet thread, Hawley added specific actions Jackson took to help weed out those child porn criminals, saying:

It got worse. As a member of the United States Sentencing Committee, Judge Jackson advocated a dramatic change in the way the law treats sex offenders by eliminating the existing mandatory minimum sentences for pornography. child porn

Judge Jackson said that some child pornography owners are “in this collection or people who are lonely and find status when they join the community.” Which community would that be? Community of child exploiters?

He adds in screenshots of other gruesome sections of her profile and cites a number of instances where she has given child porn offenders light sentences, including a case where she gave a child pornographer who even abused a 9-year-old about half the sentence he should have received, a sentence that many would say is quite light due to the terrible nature of the crime committed:

In the United States v. Stewart, a criminal who owns thousands of child pornographic images and also hopes to travel across states to abuse a 9-year-old girl. The guidelines require sentences of 97-121 months. Judge Jackson sentenced the criminal to just 57 months.

And that’s just one case; Hawley lists some of them in the thread.

Jackson, for his part, tried to refute Hawley’s accusations, saying that, as Fox report:

“As a mother and judge who had to deal with these cases, I thought nothing could be further from the truth, [t]These are some of the most difficult cases a judge has to deal with” as they involve images of child abuse and the way the judge must read “picture descriptions” during sentencing.
