Harry Styles invites the Australian legend onto the stage in a stunning performance in the final show of the tour

In a stunning performance to wrap up his final Australian show, Harry Styles capped a week-long bromance with Daryl Braithwaite by inviting the Australian icon on stage to perform his hit song The Horses in front of 70,000 cheering fans in Sydney.

Styles took it to another level when he invited the local legend behind the ’90s hit to sing with him at his Sydney show at Accor Stadium.

The footage shows the duo singing the 1990 song together in front of thousands of fans singing the lyrics back to them.

The pairing of the two performers follows a week in which Braithwaite witnessed Styles’ cover of his song firsthand at Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium last week and described the experience as “overwhelming”.

The duo’s standout Sydney finale received a similarly enthusiastic response online.

“I took my daughter last night and I’m not the biggest Harry fan but WOW he did an amazing concert and the atmosphere was electric. I have to say, whatever the generation, Horses is just an Australian icon,” said one fan on social media.

“You must have been proud of the great cover Harry did of Horses,” remarked another.

“And that’s what makes an icon,” commented one fan on Twitter. “Harry Styles knows how to be one.”

“Harry Styles is the artist who hasn’t done a studio collaboration yet, but he has these wonderful duo live performances with some legends. Proud of him!” remarked another.

“So happy for Harry and Daryl to be able to share this special moment and for all who were able to witness it – it must have been pure magic!” said another fan.

The collaboration seemed destined after Braithwaite saw Styles cover his hit in Melbourne.

“What an extraordinary night at Harry’s gig it was,” Braithwaite wrote on Facebook at the time.

“I just love the feel of these massive concerts when they take on a life of their own.

“Harry Styles is so good at what he does and they loved him.

“I was completely blown away by the night….thanks to Harry and his army.”
