Halo TV Series Breaks Paramount+ Premiere Viewing Record Already Renewed for a Second Season

Once one of the largest gaming companies, Halo also made early moves into other media such as graphic novels. While the recent television series Halo that debuted on Paramount+ may not be enjoying the same acclaim it once did, it may be showing signs of a Halo revival.

gloriole debuted on March 24 via subscription service Paramount+, where it broke records within the first 24 hours. The first episode attracted more viewers than the previous record holder, 1883. Exactly gloriole Viewership numbers weren’t released, but we know that 1883‘s debut drew 4.9 million viewers.

This is great news for Halo as a TV show and as a brand. Even before the start of the series, it was announced that a second season had been given the green light. That decision could have spelled disaster if the first season didn’t get enough attention or recognition. Assuming the rest of the first season can maintain a relatively steady viewership despite a drop from the debut, there’s not much to worry about for the future of the series.

Halo Infinite returned to Halo as an entertainment item and didn’t get off to a good start. It was criticized for a launch marred by performance issues on certain platforms, slow progression in multiplayer, and a lack of overall content. As a live-service title, there’s always potential for audience reception to reverse and re-establish Halo as a premier entertainment franchise as long as the TV show remains popular.
