Michael Bisping doesn’t think Conor McGregor deserves to be one of the all-time greats in UFC featherweight history. McGregor debuted as a featherweight in the UFC, beating fighters like Max Holloway, Dustin Poirier, Chad Mendes, etc. in his first bouts. He later beat the legendary Jose Aldo to win the featherweight title at UFC 194. The fight ended in just 13 seconds when the “Notorious” dropped the Brazilian with a KO.
But instead of defending his title, McGregor decided to step up to fight the likes of Nate Diaz and Eddie Alvarez. McGregor defeated Alvarez to become the first-ever UFC doubles champion. Later, McGregor was stripped of both titles for inactivity.

Michael Bisping discusses Conon McGregor’s legacy in UFC featherweight history
Bisping recently shared a video on his official youtube channel, where he frequently uploads for his viewers.
In the new video, Bisping spoke about the upcoming UFC pay-per-view mega-event UFC 276. The former UFC champion shared that the card is packed with many amazing fights and it will be amazing to watch. Speaking about Volkanovski, Bisping explained that if he manages to defend his title again, he will easily become the division’s tallest.
Bisping also mentioned other featherweight legends such as Jose Aldo and Conor McGregor. According to Bisping, McGregor never defended his featherweight title despite having an impressive 145 record. Because of this, he can’t be the best fighter in the division.
“If Volkanovski does it, he will without a doubt be the greatest featherweight the UFC has ever seen. That, of course, was Jose Aldo, “The King of Rio.” Then Conor McGregor knocked him out in 13 seconds, but he never defended the belt. He conceded and then went up to 155. Although McGregor had a crazy run at 145, he doesn’t go down as one of the greats.” said bisping.
It’s true that McGregor defended his title and later vacated the belt, but his contribution to the division cannot be forgotten. There are fans who think McGregor deserves to be the GOAT at featherweight. Realistically, however, McGregor is definitely one of the greatest in the division, if not the greatest overall.
