NEW YORK (AP) – Rui Hachimura scored 20 points, Corey Kispert added 16 and the Washington Wizards beat the Brooklyn Nets 117-103 on Thursday night.
Ish Smith has 15 points, and Dani Avdija 13 points to help the Wizards win their second straight.
Patty Mills scored 22 points and Cam Thomas added 20 points for the Nets, taking the win back in New York on Wednesday night. They lost 12 out of 14.
The Nets fell 13 points behind at the start of the third quarter and were trailed by Cam Thomas and Jevon Carter to take a 76-73 lead with 1:36 left in the meantime.
Smith and Kispert combined for seven straight points to extend Washington’s 95-83 lead with less than eight minutes of play in the fourth half before the Nets made a second comeback.
Thomas, the hero of the comeback win over the Knicks, cuts it to 106-100 on the base jump with 2:31 left. Washington responded with consecutive shots from Smith and Avdija to go 110-100.
Mage: Anthony Gill added 12 points and made both 3 points in 19 minutes of play.
Nets: Coach Steve Nash isn’t sure if Joe Harris will be back on the field after the All-Star break. “Maybe but can’t say for sure right now,” the Brooklyn coach said before the game. Harris has been sidelined since November 14 when he injured his left ankle and had to undergo arthroplasty on November 29.… Mills made five 3s to take fourth place for multiple shots. The most three points in a season with 186. He overtook Harris, who had 183 shots from long range in the 2018-19 season.
