The family drama will undoubtedly run through the first trial for the January 6 attack on the US Capitol.

Two children of the accused militia member Guy RefittProsecutors confirmed in a filing Monday, including the son who gave his father to the FBI, will be called as a government witness.

JR will introduce two of those texts, from around January 7, 2021: Example: 212.1, in which respondent submits a link to a Fox News passage describing respondent, and Ex. 212.2, where defendant circled in yellow on videos from news clips.

JR will explain that, using his cell phone, he recorded his father talking to his family while at home between January 9 and 10, 2021. He will introduce and confirm real 5 of these recordings: Exs. 214 to 218. When playing these five audio files to the jury, the government intends to display the corresponding transcripts (Example: 214T to 218T) to assist the jury in understanding.

JR will further testify about the threat the defendant made to him that, upon his return to Texas from Washington, DC, to cooperate with the FBI’s investigation into the events at the Capitol on that date. January 6, 2021. He will testify to the words the defendant used, why he perceives them as a threat and takes them seriously, and the steps he has taken to ensure keep yourself safe after that incident. ”

The government will also call Reffitt’s daughter, Peyton Reffittto testify about her father’s alleged threats.

“PR is the daughter of the defendant. She is 16 years old in January 2021. The government hopes she will testify generally that she was with her brother and father in the family kitchen when she heard her father tell them that if they delivered hand him over to law enforcement, they will be traitors, and traitors will be shot.
