Greeley-Evans School District students receive AP Scholar Honors

More than 100 students from Greeley-Evans School District 6 received AP Scholars Awards for their performance on Advanced Placement Tests in the 2021-22 school year.

The College Board’s Advanced Placement program offers students the opportunity to complete college-level courses and exams during high school. District 6 offers more than 20 Advanced Placement courses for high school students. Students who perform well on AP exams can earn college credit, advanced college placements, or both at more than 3,200 colleges and universities across the United States

Each year, the College Board recognizes those students who have passed multiple AP exams and achieved good results. According to a press release, 109 students received AP Scholar Honors in District 6.

Greeley Central High School led District 6’s high schools that year with 67 AP students. Greeley West High School is host to the International Baccalaureate program, which also offers college credit to qualifying students.

District 6 has nearly doubled the number of students who have achieved AP Scholar status in recent years. In 2012, the number of AP Scholars was 57. Over the past 15 years, more than 1,200 District 6 students have been named AP Scholars.

AP exams are developed by a national committee of college and university faculty and AP faculty to ensure that the exams are held to the same standards expected of collegiate faculty at some of the nation’s leading humanities and research institutions

The 2022 College Board Advanced Placement Scholars from District 6 are listed below. Some of these students were seniors as of May 2022 and will attend colleges and universities in the United States or participate in other educational or career opportunities.
