Jack Grealish doesn’t think Manchester City’s FA Cup semi-final defeat to Liverpool will derail his side’s season.
Manchester City are still struggling on two fronts with Pep Guardiola’s men at the top of the Premier League table and through to the Champions League semi-finals where they face Real Madrid.
They had hoped to keep their treble hopes alive but their 3-2 defeat at Wembley dashed that. However, Grealish insists there is no time to consider leaving the FA Cup.
“You just go in there and look at the talent and the experience that we have in that dressing room – I don’t think anyone in the league has a dressing room like that,” Grealish said.
“Our performances, the competitions we play in and where we stand in the league speak for themselves.
“We just have to pick ourselves up, go again and by the end of the season hopefully we’ll have (won) the Premier League and the Champions League.
“I’m not going to sit here and apologize. I just think we were slowly coming out. That was it.
“Liverpool were just like us, they’ve traveled as much as us in the last few weeks, played just like us.
“We didn’t have what we wanted in the first half but we came at half-time and the manager made a couple of changes. I think we were much better for it, but I think in the end it was too little, too late.”
Manchester City are next in action on Wednesday when they host Brighton at the Etihad Stadium.
The reigning Premier League champions are a point clear of second-placed Liverpool.
