Grammys 2023: Jennifer Lopez opens up about the ‘tense’ moment with husband Ben Affleck

Despite some big wins and big moments on stage at the 2023 Grammys, one of the biggest talking points was in the audience.

Jennifer Lopez and her husband Ben Affleck are becoming a meme on social media after having a tense conversation mid-show that was awkwardly caught on camera.

Affleck was also trolled for looking “miserable” all night.

The Let’s Get Loud singer has since responded after some questioned the state of their new marriage.

Lopez shared a video of the night with Affleck and wrote, “Always the best time with my love my husband.”

Despite Lopez’s comment, followers continued to point out the evening’s awkwardness in the comments section.

“Leave Ben at home. It’s clearly not his thing,” said one.

“The pictures and videos I saw showed no luck,” said a second.

“The pictures show the opposite of ‘always the best time with my husband’. Or did she write that on purpose?” a third wrote.

“You guys were tense and awkward all night just sad to be pretending like everything is fine,” added another.

What happened at the Grammys?

During the awards ceremony, cameras continuously panned to Affleck, showing the actor looking “miserable.”

The Good Will Hunting star instantly became a meme online.

“No matter how bad the day, I promise you’re not feeling as bad as Ben Affleck was at the Grammys,” a reporter said on Twitter.

“Ben Affleck makes a big ‘only sober guy’ at a wedding where you don’t know anyone but your wife’s mood,” wrote a second.

“Ben Affleck at the Grammys is a sobering reminder that no matter how rich and famous you are, your lady will still drag you into s*** you don’t want to go to,” added another.

In addition to the actor’s dismay during the evening, others questioned whether there was “trouble in paradise” after a tense conversation.

Affleck appears to be whispering something in his wife’s ear, causing her to yank him away and address him sternly.

The 50-year-old frowns before his gaze lands on the camera, realizing the awkward moment has been captured.

Lopez later spotted the camera and had a similar blank expression before turning to host, Trevor Noah.

Social media continued to react to the uncomfortable footage, with some even referencing Affleck’s ex-wife, Jennifer Garner.

“Jennifer Garner eats popcorn at home like… ‘Girlllllll, he’s your problem now,'” joked one.

“HER FACE WHEN SHE SAW THE CAMERA LOL,” wrote a second.

The couple wed twice in 2022, first at a chapel in Las Vegas in July and again at Affleck’s $12 million Georgia mansion in August.

Their rekindled relationship comes after the couple dated in 2002, before separating in 2004 and having other relationships and children.

They reunited in July 2021 and a few months later the couple announced their engagement.
