GPS First XI Cricket Brisbane Boys College beat Ipswich Grammar School

GPS First XI Cricket: Stunning thriller kicks off a three-way shoot-off after BBC and Toowoomba Grammar close the gap on leaders The Southport School.
The Premiership comes down to a three-way shoot-off after BBC pulled off a thrilling win and Toowoomba Grammar also closed the gap on leaders The Southport School.
A Ryan Atley-inspired Brisbane Boys College had enough scope to take an overall win on Saturday, rising from the ashes and beating Ipswich Grammar School by just one wicket while TSS and Toowoomba Grammar upset some bonus points, before wet weather had say the finale.
Churchie also ended Nudgee’s campaign with a surprise win, with bowlers Henry Hillier (3-22), Ed Storen (3-38) and Tighe Morris (2-25) the stars. Terrace also won against Brisbane Grammar School (more on both games below).
With two rounds left, the ladder looks like this:
1.TSS40
2.BBC35
3.TGS34
4. Churchie 25
5. Push 25
6. Terrace 16
7. BSHS 16
8. BGS 12
9. SIG 10
While TSS lead, they could be overtaken by both BBC and TGS this Saturday as Southport School have a bye and will not continue their tally.
The way forward will see:
TSS bye, nudgee (home)
BBC v Terrace (at home), BSHS (away)
TGS v Nudgee (Home), IGS (Away)

While the Darling Downs folks enjoyed having some rain, it was not welcomed by TSS, who never got to batting after TGS made 7-152 after batting first.
Chace Oates (64 not out) was up to his old tricks but this time he batted more than two hours to prevent his side from facing the outstanding TSS attack of Zac McDermott, Ryan Summers, Tom Waterman, Ned Hanrahan, Jacob Bath and others succumbed to young spinner Thaman, who again impressed (1-24, eight overs).

While TSS and TGS stayed behind in frustration, Brisbane Boys College snuck past the 9-190s from IGS – but just barely.
BBC looked down and out but made 9-191, with gloveman Atley (58 not out, 97 balls) adding an unlikely for the final wicket with No.11 Oscar White after Angus Harris (47) hit well early.
It was an absolute thriller and full marks to IGS for their role in the exciting game.
IGS had nearly reached 200, driven by Cody Dalziel (36), Jack Hillier (18), Jackson Evetts (24) and Jacob Cibulka (26).
Then the last pair of Luke Wegner (13 not out, 11 balls) and No.11 Sujal Raiyani (2 not out, four balls) brought the score from 9-175 to 190.
IGS was on top as Kori Ramsden (4-46) got under the wickets, helped by Wegner (2-33), Cibulka, Evetts and Harper who proved almost impossible.
BBC switched from 3-115 to 9-155 and seemed to be gone until the Atley-White association.
White scored eight balls out of 48 in a stunning rearguard performance.
Previously, BBC were good early on with captain Jamie Alexander once again shining with a shiny new ball.
Alexander has won 14 wickets this season at 24 and his 3-34 from nine overs yesterday was golden for his side.
James Martens (4-43) and Blake Armstrong (1-31) were also among the wickets, but just as important were the close contributions from Jack Heelan and Christian Alexander. Each also took a wicket.
Atley now has 219 runs at 43.80 for the BBC this season.
At Ross ovalChurchie secured a thrilling two-wicket win via the Duckworth-Lewis calculation.
Nudgee batted first after Churchie opted for a bowl, a decision that later rewarded victorious skipper Jack Ryan.
Mathew Fielding (38) and Jack Balkin (56) got their team off to a great start with 56 run streaks. But with Ed Storen, Tighe Morris and Henry Hillier on fire, the Nudgee’s middle order crumbled.
Balkin, who hit three fours and two sixes, was in the middle for 131 minutes, grinding it out while his classmates fell cheaply.
Angus Storen and Charlie Moore assisted Ed Storen (3-38), Hillier (3-22) and Morris (2-25) with the ball to eliminate Nudgee in the 44th over for 156 and set up an exciting chase for Churchie.
In a drizzle, Churchie openers Connor Rudman (28) and Jayden Draper (11) displayed great composure and held off the nudgee bowlers long enough to collect 49 deciding runs.
Tighe Morris defined the match with a cameo of 20 just after Corless collected the scalps of Rudman and Draper, before a match-winning 29-of-41 from No. 8 Daniel Boreham Churchie got past the winner’s post.
Boreham hit four fours in his 60-minute knock and he was joined by Hillier, who stayed there for an unbeaten 14.
Churchie ended up getting the required 142 (Duckworth-Lewis adjusted total) with the helping hand of 36 extras.
Angus McLean, Corless, Fergus McFadyen, Grady Turner and Balkin the wicket takers for Nudgee in a tough home loss.
