Godzilla and the Titans live-action Apple series expands cast by five

Apple’s upcoming Godzilla and the Titans live-action series has added its first five cast members, diversity have learned.

Anna Sawai, Ren Watabe, Kiersey Clemons, Joe Tippett and Elisa Lasowski have all joined the untitled series, which is from Legendary Television.

On the show, after the thunderous battle between Godzilla and the Titans that leveled San Francisco and the shocking new reality that monsters are real, a family travels to uncover their buried secrets and a legacy they share with the secret organization Monarch connects.

Sawai (“Pachinko”, “F9”) will play Cate, a former teacher and G-Day survivor. She travels to Japan to settle family matters, but instead uncovers a family secret. Tired of running away from her problems, she is determined to find answers.

Watabe (“461 Days of Bento”) will play Kentaro, who is described as an intelligent, creative and curious young man who has yet to find his own path. He will embark on a quest to learn more about his revered but mysterious father and discover his own talents along the way.

Clemons (“Hearts Beat Loud,” “The Young Wife”) plays May, an American expat with a mischievous exterior that she uses to protect herself and others. Whether it’s deciphering a code or finding the gap, she’s always three steps ahead of everyone around her.

Tippett (“Mare of Easttown,” “The Morning Show,” “Rise”) plays Tim, an office drone who dreams of becoming a secret agent. His overconfidence gets him into trouble on the ground, but he’s determined not to let his organization down.

Finally, Lasowski (“Versailles”) will star as Duvall, a seasoned agent with unshakable confidence in herself and her abilities. She also possesses a wry sense of humor which she uses to guide her less field-oriented colleague.

Sawai is represented by WME, United Agents, Zero Gravity and Felker Toczek. Watabe is represented by AFA Prime Talent Media, Bunny Lake Studio in Japan and attorney Yorn Levine Barnes. Clemons is represented by UTA, Range Media Partners and Jackoway Tyerman. Tippett is represented by Paradigm and Perennial Entertainment. Lasowski is represented by Curtis Brown UK and Sherpa Talent.

Chris Black and Matt Fraction co-developed the series with executive producers. Black will also serve as showrunner. Safehouse Pictures’ Joby Harold and Tory Tunnell will join Toho Co. Ltd.’s Hiro Matsuoka and Takemasa Arita. also be executive producers. Toho is the owner of the Godzilla character and has licensed the rights to Legendary for the series. diversity Exclusively reported that WandaVision director Matt Shakman is set to direct and executive produce the first two episodes. The show continues the story of the legendary Monsterverses established in films like Kong: Skull Island and 2014’s Godzilla.
