Giselle is back in the first trailer for Disenchanted.

The trailer for Disenchanted has finally arrived as part of D23 Expo 2022. Breaking down the preview clip reveals some surprising details about where Giselle’s story is headed next. After Giselle finally found her happy with Robert in Enchanted, the sequel aims to dive right into what happened after the first film’s happy ending. 15 years have passed, which corresponds to the time between the films. We immediately see our heroine singing to New York pigeons and cockroaches on her balcony. After saying, “I know change can be scary, but it can also be exciting,” we discover that Giselle and Robert have two children and are now moving to the suburban community of Monroeville.

The new film’s antagonist appears to be Malvina Monroe (Maya Rudolph), who oversees Monroeville and may play a role in Giselle’s desire to transform the real world into a version of Andalasia in order to regain the perfection she craves. Taking on the role of Susan Sarandon’s villain, Rudolph spoke to Jimmy Fallon about the new challenge on The Tonight Show. When Fallon asked if playing the villain was fun, she replied, “Oh my god, it’s the most fun…you know, if anyone ever said, ‘Oh, you get to be the villain.’ .. I thought: ‘I don’t want to be the bad guy’ [but] it’s the most fun you’ll ever have.”

Disenchanted premieres on Disney+ on November 24, 2022. Giselle is back in the first trailer for Disenchanted.
