Girl suffers head and leg injuries after being hit by a car in Kingsford

A young child has been taken to hospital with head and leg injuries after being hit by a car on a main road in Sydney’s eastern suburbs.

The girl, believed to be under 10, was injured on Anzac Pde, near Avoca St in Kingsford, at around 3.30pm.

She was taken by ambulance to Sydney Children’s Hospital in Randwick.

Authorities did not comment on her condition.

The incident came shortly after a motorcyclist was critically injured in a collision with a bus in nearby Kensington.

The two vehicles came together at the intersection of Alison Rd and Doncaster Ave around 3pm.

The motorcyclist, a man believed to be in his 20s, was taken to St Vincent’s Hospital where he died.

The 34-year-old bus driver was uninjured and was taken to the Prince of Wales Hospital for mandatory tests.

An investigation has been launched and motorists have been asked to avoid the area.
