Georgia Football throws the bag at their head coach

The Georgia Bulldogs made Kirby Smart one of the highest-paid head coaches in college football with a new contract.

Kirby won the national championship last season and finally got over the hump, defeating Nick Saban in the process. That was the last bullet point missing from Smart’s college football head coaching resume, and he did it in style a local product to boot as his quarterback.

The Bulldogs know what they have in Smart — a head coach who brings money to the university. They want to make sure that he is well compensated.

I am delighted with the continued success of our football program under his stewardship. The future of Georgia Football remains bright with Coach Smart as our steadfast leader.”

Smart should earn $10,250,000 in the upcoming season. He is now signed for the 2031 campaign, with annual increases over the years. In the final year of his contract, he will earn $12,250,000.
