Georgia Football beats Alabama, Clemson, Florida by 5-star corner

Georgia football has landed a major signing from five-star cornerback AJ Harris, beating Alabama, Clemson and Florida for his promise.

Georgia’s future in high school just got a boost with the signing of AJ Harris.

On Thursday, the five-star cornerback from Phenix City, Alabama, chose the Bulldogs as his future home.

“I will live with my name forever when I die. I will accumulate the money forever. 100000% INCLUDED & COMMITTED. IM HOME,” Harris tweeted with a UGA graphic.

To get Harris, Georgia had to beat Alabama, Clemson and Florida in a hard-fought recruiting battle. He had visited the latter two unofficially on several occasions this year, but it looks like his official visit to Athens in June made the right impression.

Harris told Hayes Fawcett about On3 that Georgia was his “dream school” since he had been attending their camps since sixth grade.

“I feel at home every time I’m on campus,” he said.

At 6-foot-1, 180 pounds, Harris is the No. 5 cornerback in the class of 2023 according to 247Sports. He ranks No. 25 nationally and No. 5 in Alabama state.

Cooper Petagna from 247Sports hailed Harris as a “fast-twitch, explosive player” who could play next-level corners, nickels or safety.

Harris had 31 tackles, three pass breakups and two forced fumbles in 2021 as a junior. He also added seven touchdowns as a rusher and receiver.

The Georgia recruiting class of 2023 now has two stellar cornerback prospects, with Harris joining four-star cornerback commitment Justyn Rhett in the class.
