George Washington and George Mason Predictions and Odds (The Patriots Return Home)

George Washington and George Mason are each looking forward to getting back into the winning column Sunday afternoon in Fairfax, Virginia when the two Atlantic 10 opponents hit the field at 2:30 p.m. ET.

Both teams lost to Richmond, Virginia, with George Washington losing to Richmond 84-71, and George Mason losing to VCU 72-66. It was the third straight road game for the Patriots, with a 1-2 on the trip since February 16.

The Colonials took the Patriots’ best win back on MLK Day in a 77-76 win in DC as Joe Bamisile dropped 26 points and six pounds in a nasty win as the 276-money (+7, 5 on the spread).

Which “George” will reign supreme?

Even though George Washington won an upset back in mid-January; including a 7.5 house dog, I like George Mason taking care of the business in a revenge game in their building.

The Patriots have been stellar at home this year, beating ATS 8-4-0 and coming home, playing well in the laning phase despite losing 1-2 SU. The Patriots have lost their last two games by 4.5 points on average to Fordham and VCU, and only lost to Fordham due to one of their worst offensive performances of the year; just over 35% fired from target range and 25% from city center.

Where this sets up well for George Mason is that GW simply don’t have anyone to accommodate sophomore striker Josh Odoro, who didn’t play in their previous game. Defending A-10 Player of the Week leads the Patriots with 18 points per game, while being an inner physical force of 6’9, 235 pounds.

George Washington ranks 308th in strike recovery rate and 292nd in the nation in total bounces/match. With Mason having four guys 6’7″ or taller in its spin (compared to GW’s just two), expect the Patriots to control the game inside, get plenty of second chance points, and hit defeat Colonials

BASED ON: George Mason -10
