Via Chris Williams: George Kambosos will be in attendance this Saturday night for WBC lightweight champion Devin Haney and Joseph ‘Jojo’ Diaz Jr at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The card will be streamed LIVE on DAZN.
Kambosos will get some much-needed visibility by sitting on the sidelines for the Haney vs. Diaz Jr. and he will be seen by millions of fans worldwide.
Moreover, Kambosos will probably give a lot of interviews and eat what can be his 15 minutes of fame. Unfortunately for Kambosos, this could be good for him as there is a high chance he will be dethroned by Haney in the first quarter of 2022.
Once Kambosos loses those “beautiful belts,” he is likely to return in obscurity, albeit with a bank account laden with millions of dollars.
Last Saturday, Kambosos made a little miracle by defeating the IBF/WBA/WBC Franchise/WBO lightweight champion IBF/WBA/WBC Franchise/WBO, Teofimo Lopez Jr. decided to divide 12 rounds.
Poor Teofimo looked completely exhausted during last Friday night’s brainstorming match, and you can tell from his looks that he’ll be getting ready for a fight with the highly motivated Australian.
From Chris Williams’ view of the war, Teofimo is mostly active in 40% capacity compared to what he usually is, and that won’t be enough to defeat Kambosos.
The World Boxing Council showed their disrespect to Haney (26-0, 15 KOs) by calling Kambosos Jr. “#and the new undisputed World Champion!”
Kambosos Jr (20-0, 10 KOs) is NOT the undisputed lightweight champion as he is missing the WBC belt, which is still in Haney’s possession.

The 28-year-old Australian Kambosos still needs the WBC belt before he can be considered the undisputed lightweight world champion, and it won’t be easy for him to achieve that honor.
“I will bring a big war back to Australia with 80,000 people and I think that will lead [beating Teofimo Lopez], protect the belts,” Kambosos Jr told Fight Hub TV.
Kambosos seems very reassured that Haney will agree to fight him in his backyard in Australia. I wouldn’t be so sure if I were George because Haney might resist the idea of being a B in front of 80,000 Kambosos fans.
Why was Haney so willing to put herself in a battle position in front of such a huge fanbase that supported Kambosos?
“I’m extremely happy,” Kambosos said when asked if he was satisfied with his performance against Teofimo last Saturday. “I caught him beautifully in the first round, and I took him out, and the fight completely changed,” said Kambosos.
