The Lantern Rite is in full swing, but the Traveler and Paimon have other things to do as well. The search for the mysterious woman from Dvorak’s story continues, and it’s time to swap with Ganyu to see who managed to dig something up. Let us begin.

Wait until the appointed time and then head to Yujing Terrace

After completing “A Thousand Miles for a Mysterious Melody” you’ll have to wait a bit before meeting up with Ganyu again – two days into the game to be exact. Either go out and find a way to pass the time, or just use the clock menu to let the hours pass. Between 8am and 10am, return to Yujing Terrace to share your information with Ganyu.

Ganyu suspects that the mysterious woman from Dvorak’s story must have been an adept, but not much is known beyond that. She recommends heading to Mt. Aocang to speak with Cloud Retainer, who might be able to shed some light on the matter, so that’s your next destination.

Drive to Mount Aocang

Once you reach the shore of the small lake near Cloud Retainer, you will find the place deserted. At a loss as to what to do in the Adeptus’s absence, Paimon proposes a new idea – since the woman from Dvorak’s story came to the rescue of a drowning man, why not pretend to be in danger yourself in the middle of the lake?

Swim to the center of the pool and wait for Paimon to yell for help. In no time at all, Shenhe and Xiao will be hauling you out of the pool, but neither of them match the story’s mysterious woman. However, Shenhe mentions that there is a place where she listens to music every day.

Follow Shenhe to her cultivation place

The location Shenhe takes you to is a little northeast of Mount Aocang, not far from the Clear Pool and Mountain Cavern artifact domain. Go there to find that this is another dead end, unfortunately – for Shenhe, “music” is simply the sounds of the surrounding nature and not something relevant to your quest. Still, it gives the Traveler a chance to remember Shenhe and Ganyu for a moment before Cloud Retainer appears. After receiving your message, the Adeptus suspects that she may know the mysterious woman’s identity.

Go to the indicated location

Cloud Retainer takes you southeast to the eastern edge of the Guili Plains. Here she reveals to you that the likely identity of the mysterious woman from Dvorak’s story is the Adeptus Streetward Rambler, also known as Madame Ping. Tragically, the circumstances of the event are closely tied to the death of her friend and fellow Adept Guizhong in the Archon War, but the Traveler decides to speak to her about the matter anyway.

Return to Liyue Harbor and speak to Madame Ping

Return to Liyue Port and seek out Madame Ping. She confirms Cloud Retainer’s suspicions and briefly reflects on the nature of grief and loss. With your detective work done, it’s time to return to Dvorak and deliver the big reveal.

Dvorak can be found near the Sea Gazer statue on the north docks chatting with Keqing. He’s thrilled to finally have a name for the mystery woman from his story and decides to talk to her after the music festival and thank her. With all that done, the Traveler and Paimon finally remember their first task from a few days ago – collecting emerging bamboo shoots for Zhongli. Oops.

Go to Wangsheng Funeral Home

Go to the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor to find Zhongli. He’s not there, but you can find Hu Tao, Xinyan, and Yun Jin practicing for the music festival. Hu Tao mentions that Zhongli was on his way to Mt. Hulao to have dinner with “some old friends” and reminds you to be back in time for the festival and subsequent banquet.

Go to Mount Hulao

Go to Mt. Hulao and you will find Zhongli eating and reminiscing with his fellow adepts. After catching them up – and getting some Bamboo Shoot Soup for your troubles – return to Liyue Port to complete the quest and collect your rewards.
