Ayato-wanters, rejoice. For eight long months, the Genshin Impact The community thirsted for a character whose physical appearance hadn’t even been revealed, and their trust was finally rewarded. HoYoverse – formerly miHoYo – will finally make him playable with the major festival update 2.6, Zephyr of the Violet Garden. And that’s not the only long wait this update will bring to an end. Xiao now has a special artifact set after over one year of its players riding the battle bus, while Dainslief will also return to the main quest scenario after players have waited for it 11 months.

Kamisato Ayato is the head of the Kamisato clan, Thomas’ lord and Ayaka’s older brother. Its presence in the story has been teased since the release of the Inazuma region last July, but leakers have only been able to reveal its appearance this January. He appears to be a sub DPS character as his Elemental Burst increases his entire team’s normal attack damage. Both his abilities and burst seem to make him a great hydro status applicator, and he’s only the second melee character to be able to taunt enemies. Depending on how well his skills scale, he could fit into a variety of effective team compositions.

However, it’s always a good idea to save your gacha currency until the community has fully tested a new kit. The patch will also feature the high-DPS Ayaka and the AoE puller Venti. It’s been a while since any of these characters have had a reprise, but they’re still meta-defining for those who care about the gameplay. Both are incredibly solid moves.

I pumped my fist when I saw the new artifact gear HoYoverse is adding to this patch. The Echoes of an Offering set boosts the power of normal attacks and seems tailor-made for Ayato. But what I really have my eye on is Vermillion Hereafter. This is the special Xiao artifact set that his main line has been asking for since February of last year. It increases the wearer’s Attack when using an Elemental Burst, then stacks additional Attack when taking damage. The effect is cleared if the character uses their burst again. This is perfect for Xiao, who has a relatively high cooldown on his burst, which also damages him over time. Our Brawler gets broken even more – at the peak of the effect, Xiao could gain a 48% Attack Boost. Goodbye Gladiator Set: I need to farm a new artifact.

when you play genshin for the story, then don’t worry. I have not forgotten you. It’s been 11 months since we last saw Dainslief in the main story quest, but he will now return to reveal more backstory about Khaenri’ah and the dreaded Abyss. Come for the spooky lore but stay for the offbeat anime boy.

This patch’s seasonal festival takes place in Inazuma and is the most international event to date. Commissioner Ayato and his sister Ayaka run the cultural festival, but I also took a look at Klee, Albedo, Venti, and Xingqiu. If you don’t already have Xingqiu – one of the best support characters in the entire game – you can grab him for free by playing the minigame events. Theater Mechanicus has been revamped to offer shorter tower defense matches, and there is a combat mini-game focused on parrying enemy attacks.

Zephyr of the Violet Garden is one of the last major Inazuma updates until the new Sumeru region arrives in patch 3.0. Patch 2.6 will be released on March 30th. Genshin Impact 2.6 update adds Ayato, new artifacts and more
