Gamescom Opening Night Live 2022: Start time, confirmed trailers, more

Gamescom – the world’s largest video games trade show – officially begins on Wednesday 24th August. Practically, the fun begins Tuesday afternoon EDT with a two-hour Opening Night live-streamed presentation hosted by The Game Awards’ Geoff Keighley.

The show begins at 2pm EDT/11am PDT and can be viewed on The Game Awards YouTube and Twitch channels. Two weeks ago, Keighley said Opening Night Live would highlight more than 30 games. trailer for Hogwarts legacy, Gotham Knights and Sonic Frontiers are already confirmed.

Keighley also teased on Monday kind of a Borderlands reveal for Tuesday’s broadcast. Microsoft said back in July that fans could expect a heavy Xbox presence at Gamescom, which will focus on new releases coming out over the next 12 months.

Previous ONL broadcasts from Gamescom were preceded by a 30-minute pre-show that provided another set of trailers and announcements, but no such pre-show is confirmed for 2022.

Opening Night Live 2022 will be Keighley’s first in-person show from Cologne since 2019; The COVID-19 pandemic has shifted everything to an external streaming stage for the past two years.
