Game of Thrones’ Jon Snow will be in a sequel

HBO is in “early development” on one game of Thrones Sequel series focused on character Jon Snow, reports The Hollywood Reporter. It’s a live-action series, and Kit Harrington is set to reprise the role that made him famous.

The series is set after the events of game of Thronesmaking it the first of no less than eight sequels game of Thrones Spin-offs that HBO has in development. Jon Snow, a heroic outcast who discovered he was a potential heir to the Iron Throne, was last seen in exile joining the remaining Free Peoples in resettling the free lands north of the Wall.

Continuing his story is a significant and risky move. Creating prequel series that explore established Westeros lore comes with less baggage and more guard rails than advancing the story of beloved characters — especially judging by fan reactions game of ThronesThe conclusion was mixed, to say the least.

Apart from house of the dragonset 200 years earlier and slated to premiere August 21, HBO is slated to develop three additional live-action prequel series set in Westeros: The Sea Serpentabout the great seafarer Corlys Velaryon appearing in house of the dragon; Ten thousand ships, set 1,000 years earlier and tells the story of Princess Nymeria, who founded Dorne; and a series set just 90 years earlier Game of Thrones, adapted by George RR Martin Tales of Dunk and Egg novellas.

The Hollywood Reporter believes there are three animated prequel series in development, including The Golden Empireset in the land of Yi Ti.

There is no guarantee that any of these projects will not work house of the dragon will reach the screen. In 2019, HBO was filming a pilot for a prequel series starring Naomi Watts before dropping out.
