Battle royale playable for free Call of Duty: Warzone has only one main card, unlike other similar shooters like Apex Legends or PUBG. And while many players and even the developers behind the game would love to add more, the game’s infamously large install size seems to be holding them back from expanding further.

as discovered by PC gamerin a recent video interview with call of Duty Streamer TeeP, war zoneJosh Bridge, head of live operations at , spoke about the future of the game and the issues the community is currently having with the game. Once TeeP Bridge asked about the possibility of adding more cards to a rotation system. A pool of maps that rotated every few hours or days had players returning to Verdansk, the classic war zone Map started with the game. Verdansk was removed in December 2021 and replaced by the current map, caldera.

Bridge answered the question with a surprisingly honest answer, explaining that the developers wanted to do that, but the game’s already massive install size prevents them from doing so.

“We want that. That’s what we all want… so there’s a technical issue: the install and reinstall size [are] damn crazy,” Bridge explained. “It’s crazy, right, like we’re, uh, you know Caldera, backing out and saying ‘okay, we’re going to stop by Verdansk,’ I mean, that could essentially be a re-download of the whole thing war zone [game].

Bridge further noted that every time the game has received a massive update it loses players as many don’t want to deal with big updates and patches that do already big game bigger. In the interview it is also mentioned that on older consoles like the base PS4Size is very critical, and getting too big makes it almost impossible for some players to keep it war zone installed if they have some other games on their console. However, Bridge said the developers want to add map rotation in the future to ensure the game stays “fresh” as players come back to it each week.

Given these comments, it’s likely that Warzone 2which is supposedly in developmentis being developed to better support map rotation and other popular features found in similar battle royales.

In the meantime, call of Duty Publisher Activision Blizzard continues to face ongoing legal issues the revelation of last July that the California Department of Equal Employment and Housing was suing the publisher after years of investigation surfaced numerous stories of women suffering harassment and abuse while I work at Activision Blizzard.

Just last week, The publisher was named in a new lawsuit with allegations of sexual harassment, this time focusing on executives in Blizzard’s IT department. According to the lawsuit, the plaintiff, an employee, was repeatedly subjected to unwelcome advances, touching and inappropriate comments. She says she retaliated after reporting it to HR and then passed over for promotions to force her out of the company.
