Friends Fan Week includes pop-ups, Instagram giveaways and new merchandise

To mark International Friendship Day, Warner Bros. Discovery has launched Friends Fan Week 2022, a celebration of the hit NBC sitcom that will include pop-up events in three cities, Instagram giveaways and new merchandise.

Stunt Week starts today and runs through July 30th International Friendship Day.

One activity fans can look forward to is The Friends Experience. Located in New York, Denver and Toronto, the immersive experience pop-up created by Superfly X, Warner Bros. Themed Entertainment and Warner Bros. Television Group features 12 rooms including Monica’s kitchen and the iconic fountain featured in the show’s opening credits see is.

Attendees can explore the history of the show and recreate favorite moments from the Warner Bros.-produced TV series that aired from 1994 to 2004, like the one where David Schwimmer’s Ross character shouts “Pivot!” while helping Matthew Perry’s Chandler and Jennifer Anistan’s Rachel maneuver a large couch up a narrow flight of stairs.

The Friends Experience will also be hosting an online giveaway on Instagram beginning July 25 and offering a 15% off retail promotion on July 30 beginning Saturday at 12:00 PM ET and ending on Sunday July 31 at 12:00 p.m. ET.

Social media platforms will be attending the event, with Friends-inspired TikTok and Instagram filters, Giphy stickers, and other social media content. Fans can post a Friends-inspired video on TikTok or Instagram with the hashtag #FriendsFanWeek.

New merchandise items to be launched include a Friends-themed edition of the board game Clue and a backpack shaped like the memorable front door of Courteney Cox’s Monica’s apartment.

Warner Bros. Discovery is building all of this to increase viewership of the Friends library. All 236 episodes of the series are available on the HBO Max platform. Warner Bros. Discovery cable network TBS will also participate in a “Friends” binge, which will air back-to-back episodes throughout the week at 11 a.m., ending July 30 with a “Best of Friends Marathon” from 10 to 18 clock culminate.
