Free test kits distributed around Baltimore county – CBS Baltimore

BALTIMORE (WJZ) – With so much COVID-19 fighting in and around Baltimore County, officials are working to provide free COVID-19 home testing kits to residents.

“It’s been a challenge across the country, we’ve seen that hold true for the holidays so far, but we’re grateful we were able to overcome it using our leverage. me, State of Emergency, to buy a bulk of the tests that we Sean Naron, Baltimore County Deputy Communications Manager, said.

With 25 locations and more to be added next week, the County said it will distribute 100,000 kits while supplies remain.

“There’s a lot of people who have this virus and you don’t know if you’ve got it, you could be asymptotic, so you want to know for sure if you have it.”

With so many people infected, it’s difficult to identify those who are infected because they may have no symptoms, she said.

In addition to the 25 sites offering free testing kits around the area, larger sites will open like the previous Sears site and area hospitals.

“It’s really hard to get appointments, and I don’t necessarily want to go to a place where other people can get infected. So taking the test at home seems a lot safer,” says Peju Ganiyu of Baltimore County.

Before noon on Friday, the Baltimore County Twitter page announced that the Timonium Fair venue had “completed distribution of COVID-19 testing kits for the remainder of the day.”

Over the next two weeks, Baltimore County will distribute 100,000 COVID testing kits, in addition to those the County has already made available to school systems.
