Francisco Armenta Talks to Ruben Torres Showdown, Training Camp

Unbeatable lightweight, Francisco Armenta (12-0, 4 KOs), of Orange, California, via Sinaloa, Mexico, is looking to make a statement in lightweight this Friday, Dec. head to head with teammate with undefeated prospects, Ruben “Aces” Torres (16-0, 13 KOs).

Torres vs. Armenta, an 8th round, will be the co-star of the matchup between Saul “The Beast” Sanchez (17-1, 10 KOs) and Jose “Hollywood” Estrella (23-17-1, 16 KOs)), who will fight in the main event of 10 rounds. The Path to Glory event will take place at the DoubleTree Hotel in Ontario, California, promoted by Thompson Boxing Promotion.

“This is a big opportunity for me. Ruben Torres has a lot of talent but so am I and I will show everyone that I am a fighter worth looking at. I believe I have the form to beat Torres. and the world will witness my talent this Friday. I will turn this fight into a war.”

About what a win would do for his career.

“Winning this match puts me in the position of Ruben Torres now. Torres is being mentioned among the best emerging prospects in the country and beating him would take me to the next level. Basically. Basically, this fight is all I’ve done, and I don’t. want all my hard work to go to waste. Now it’s time for me to take my career to the next level.”

“The camp has been very intense and focused. I came to bring it, and I know what he has to offer, but he will have to compete with me on form for all eight rounds. I’ll take it very seriously.
