“During the pandemic, medical staff sacrificed themselves to help us. We must continue to show our gratitude and support them as much as we can,” said Comptroller Franchot. “I am proud to be partnering with the SECU Cares Package to drive a comprehensive initiative that directly benefits our healthcare heroes.”
Credit unions are offering reduced-interest loans to frontline healthcare workers to help improve their financial well-being, and the MD Mortgage Loan for medical professionals.

SECU is offering flexible working hours in financial healthcare centers exclusively for healthcare workers with unique schedules. Whether they are members of a credit union or not, workers will be able to receive a full assessment of their financial health and guidance on how to manage incoming funds, prepare basic budgets, new purchases and financing, loan opportunities and debt management, SECU said.
The credit union is also sending $50,000 worth of care and food delivery packages to healthcare facilities across the state.
