Four seriously injured in Redbank fire accident

Four people were injured in a fire accident when their car struck a parked lorry in Ipswich and burst into flames.

The driver and three passengers were trapped in the car after it lost control and crashed just yards from a house on Christ St, Redbank, just after 11pm on Saturday.

Rescuers were able to free those trapped before the vehicle caught fire.

They were all taken to various hospitals with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Anyone who saw the vehicle nearby at the time or has dashcam footage is asked to contact police.

“Investigators will be working to determine if the vehicle is the same as the one that was previously driving dangerously,” Queensland Police said.

The investigations are ongoing.
