Fortnite, Epic has now raised $70M for Ukraine in a week

Fourteen days continues to provide millions of dollars in emergency aid to Ukraine. Epic’s latest update is big, announcing that as of March 25th it has raised over $70 million in aid funds for charities and groups supporting Ukrainians during the ongoing and horrific Russian invasion of the country.

In a blog first published on March 20th on Epic’s official news site and since the March 25 update, the company said players helped raise over $70 million that will be used to support the people of Ukraine during the war. This is part of Epic’s ongoing plans to donate proceeds from all “real money” purchases made in Fourteen days between March 20th to April 3rd.

Epic had already raised over $35 million to help Ukraine in just one day Fourteen days. It should be noted that Xbox also donates all proceeds from the Xbox version Fourteen days Also for the next two weeks.

Interestingly, in its first blog post on March 20, Epic also announced that it will not wait for funds to be cleared before donating the money raised. Instead, Epic sends the funds to the charities just days after the “transactions” are reported. It explained that it does so because waiting for “the actual receipt of funds from our platform and payment partners” can be long. So it uses its own money and resources to speed up the process.

According to Epic, all funds raised will then be donated to a number of charities, including Direct Relief, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, the United Nations Children’s Fund and the World Food Programme.

Meanwhile, there was also news on March 25th Humble Bundle, which is his own, separate charity game pack for Ukraine had raised over $20 million. That goes hand in hand with a previous Itch.io package that raised over $6 million.
